Arrival → Maafushi Local Island

Land at Velana International Airport, Male. Meet representative and transfer to the public ferry/speedboat terminal. 30-minute speedboat ride to Maafushi Island — Maldives' most popular local island for budget travellers, located in South Male Atoll. Maafushi has bikini beaches, real Maldivian local life, and amazing snorkelling. Check into 3★ guesthouse. Spend the afternoon at the bikini beach (designated tourist beach with relaxed dress code), or take a 5-minute walk through the local island past mosques, shops, schools. Sunset at the beach. Dinner at local Maldivian restaurant — try mas huni (tuna with coconut, onion, chilli). Overnight Maafushi.

Sandbank + Picnic Island Day Trip

After breakfast, full-day excursion to a private sandbank — a tiny strip of pure white sand surrounded by turquoise water in the middle of the ocean. Truly Insta-iconic. Snorkelling with sea turtles, manta rays, and reef sharks (depending on season and luck). Lunch picnic on the sandbank. Continue to a deserted picnic island for swimming and beach time. Return Maafushi by 4 PM. Optional sunset fishing trip (₹1,500). Evening at bikini beach. Dinner at guesthouse or local restaurant. Overnight Maafushi.

Snorkelling Tour + Free Time

After breakfast, half-day snorkelling tour to multiple coral reefs. See vibrant coral, colourful fish, sea turtles, eagle rays, and possibly nurse sharks. Visit reef shark point (mostly safe black-tip reef sharks). Lunch at guesthouse. Afternoon free for beach, relaxation. Optional water sports: jet ski (₹2,500), parasailing (₹3,000), or scuba dive intro (₹5,000). Evening sunset cruise (optional ₹2,500). Dinner. Overnight Maafushi.
